Pride Month events on the lakeshore to celebrate LGBTQ+ community

HOLLAND — A series of events are taking place along the lakeshore in June for Pride Month, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

Out On The Lakeshore's "Run with PRIDE 5K" takes place Saturday, June 10, at Helder Park, 3751 104th Ave. in Zeeland. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. All skill levels are invited to participate. More information is available online at hollandpride.org.

Grand Haven is celebrating its first-ever Pride Festival from 12-9 p.m. Saturday, June 10, on the Grand Haven waterfront. This includes the Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium, the Grand Haven Municipal Marina and parking lot and the splash pad. Everyone is welcome to the free event, which includes drag shows, a live DJ, drag bingo, food trucks and more. Full information is available online at ghpride.org.

Tacos and Tie-Dye for Pride Night is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Tulip City Brewstillery, 430 W. 17th St. Suite 27 in Holland. It's an all-ages event. Professional tie-dye artist Jen Foreman will provide tips. Spice Boys Food Truck will have food for sale. There will also be yard games and other activities.

"Yas Queen! The History of Drag" takes place from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at the Holland Museum, 31 W. 10th St. in Holland. Out On The Lakeshore Executive Director Kate Leighton-Colburn will answer questions and provide an in-depth history.

Campit Outdoor Resort in Fennville will host Campit Pride Weekend on Friday-Sunday, June 23-25 at 6635 118th Ave. The event will include an annual pride parade, dance and pool parties, and other events. Guests are encouraged to dress in pride gear and decorate their sites. For reservations or information, call 269-543-4300.

Out On The Lakeshore is hosting Holland Pride's newest event, "Immersive Enchantment: A Night of Mystery and Mischief." It takes place from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Park Theatre, 248 S. River Ave. in Holland. The event is for adults. Exit Left Theatre Company will offer event-exclusive drinks, burlesque, drag, live music, divination (tarot, palm reading, etc.) and more.

Holland's 20th Pride Celebration takes place from 12-5 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at Centennial Park, 250 Central Ave. It's a free event for all ages. There will be music and dancing, a family and kids’ area, an inclusive D&D campaign, food trucks, rainbow yoga, belly dancing, an LGBTQ+ market, resource vendors, yard games and more.

Out On The Lakeshore will host its 2023 Holland Pride Drag Show from 7-9 p.m. June 24 at Virtue Cider, 2170 62nd St. in Fennville. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is for adults. The show features DJ Keller Shaw and Beauty Beyond Drag's Cherry Poppins as its host. B.R.I.T. and La Reine Divine will return to the show, while Dice Santana will join. Tickets are available on eventbrite.com.

Out On The Lakeshore is also hosting a Diverse Voices Speaker Series. The events take place from 7-9 p.m. Mondays throughout the month of June at Haworth Hotel at Hope College, 225 College Ave. The schedule is as follows:
