The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Here's how players can attach a towing harness to their horse to help them transport items in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a massive surface-world map that spans an array of regions. Although it's possible to fast-travel between any of the many Shrines and watch towers littering each area, players will find themselves traveling to many new areas on foot as they attempt to scour every last nook and cranny of Breath of the Wild 2's expansive Overworld. Thankfully, wild horses are available to tame and come with an interesting upgrade that not only allows players to travel faster but also pull important items along the way.

The new Towing Harness can be attached to any owned-and-registered horse and will allow players to use the Ultrahand upgrade to attach wagons and other items to their faithful steed, giving them a chance to tow heavy objects across Hyrule. Unfortunately, attaching the harness itself can be a bit confusing for those just starting out, as it's a physical item that shows up in Link's inventory under the Key Items tab. Here's a look at how to attach the Towing Harness in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

To unlock the towing harness itself, players will first need to amass a certain amount of Pony Points. These points are granted by the interconnected Stable system that stretches across the Hyrule surface map. Once players visit their first Stable, they'll be welcomed to the club and given a Pony Point as a reward. Pony Points are rewarded for a number of things, including visiting new areas and registering wild horses to board them.

Once players obtain a specific amount of Pony Points they can turn them in for a reward. The Towing Harness is the first reward players will unlock, and it requires three Pony Points to unlock. Players can get it quickly by visiting two stables and registering one horse. Once they receive the Towing Harness, it will be added to the Key Items in Link's inventory.

Once players have access to the Towing Harness, they will actually have to visit the stable if they want to use it. Even though it shows up in the inventory, it's impossible for players to attach the item themselves, and they will need to first attach it to any horse of their choice BEFORE leaving a stable area. To do this, players can interact with the Stable Hand from outside the building and choose the Customize Horse option once they have at least one horse boarded. Once players select "customize horse" and they have the harness in their inventory, the Stable Hand will ask if they'd like to attach the harness. Once attached, players can hook the horse up to wagons with the Ultrahand and even tow other large items simply by sticking them to the harness itself.

This can be incredibly useful for helping Korok to reach their friends, as well as carry useful items like explosive barrels into tough battles.
